Luke McCowan says his Celtic start isn’t down to winning the lottery.And the Parkhead star is desperate to have his number called again for Wednesday’s clash against former club Dundee.
McCowan stepped into the side for injured skipper Callum McGregor at Motherwell and seized his big chance by scoring the opener in an emphatic win which kept the champions top of the table.
It was a first Celtic start for the 26-year-old since his switch from Dundee, but came after a string of outstanding sub cameos.McCowan was itching for the call as he explained his reaction to being told he was getting the nod from boss Brendan Rodgers.
He said: “Just as any other. You’ve got to stay calm. It’s something I want to be doing. It’s not as if I’ve won the lottery to get a start.“You’ve got to work hard to get that.
