Cowardly child killer Lucy Letby refused to appear in court at her sentencing hearing today. The 33-year-old is set to learn the minimum period she will spend behind bars after being convicted of the murder of seven babies in her care in the Countess of Chester Hospital, along with the attempted murder of six others.
More than a dozen relatives of Letby’s victims sat in the public gallery for the hearing on Monday and eight jurors returned to see the sentencing.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak told reporters this morning that it was “cowardly that people who commit such horrendous crimes do not face their victims”.
