Fairytale royal weddings don’t happen very often, but when they do there's a touch of magic in the air. Even though 2011 will always be remembered as the year that the Prince and Princess of Wales tied the knot at Westminster Abbey, it was also when Zara and Mike Tindall married after eight years together.

On July 30, the sun shone as the royal family gathered at Canongate Kirk in Edinburgh to watch the King’s niece marry ex-England rugby pro Mike Tindall.

In the 12 years since, the couple have been blessed with three children, Mia, nine, Lena, five, and Lucas, two, and are incredibly popular thanks to their relatable approach and sense of fun. “They seem to just get better and better as the years go by," former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond tells OK! “It’s really great to see a couple who are still clearly head over heels for one another after 12 years of marriage and three children. They’re the most tactile of all the younger royals and also the most fun loving, which makes them immensely likeable.” The pair met in the Manly Wharf bar in Sydney, Australia during England's Rugby World Cup-winning campaign in 2003 while Zara was on her gap year with a group of friends.

Mike later revealed that Zara had left her number for him and after they spent some time texting she invited him to be her date at the upcoming North Cotswold Ball back in the UK.
