A new documentary series will reveal what really happens on Love Island as stars of the hit ITV show tell-all. Channel 4 are set to air the explosive new series, which will feature exclusive interviews with Islanders dishing dirt on at the sometimes controversial reality show.

Ex contestants will expose what really goes on behind the scenes as well as how they deal with instant fame and what happens when they go back to a normal life after their time in the Spanish villa. The Sun, which first broke the news, revealed the show will be titled Reality Check: Life After The Limelight. The reports come just a couple of weeks after Love Island host Laura Whitmore shocked fans by announcing she was quitting the show, after finding "certain elements" of the series "very difficult", including the travel requirements.

Laura, 37, said she won't be hosting the next next series of the show, after taking over presenting duties in early 2020 from her late friend Caroline Flack, 40, who took her own life.

In a statement announcing her decision, Laura said: "I wish it was still possible but know you'll be in safe hands. I was only planning to fill in for Caroline for a series and it turned into 3 series." The mum-of-one, who is married to Love Island narrator Iain Stirling, 34, recently claimed she wasn't allowed to check on the wellbeing of contestants on the show.
