They were one of this year's winter Love Island golden couples... if only for a few short weeks. Samie Elishi and Tom Clare – who left the South African villa in third place – officially confirmed they were in a relationship back in March, when a romantic date night led to an announcement.

Samie, 22 and Tom, 23, had been for a cosy and intimate date night at a London restaurant when Samie shared the exciting news with an Instagram video of Tom dancing in the back of a taxi, adding the caption: "This is my BOYFRIEND everyone".

Yet just over a month after jetting home from the filming of the ITV2 show, the pair called it quits, with Tom writing on his Instagram story: "I didn't think I'd be writing this but me and Samie have gone our separate ways..." A source later told The Sun: “The distance between them was too much and they are both really focused on their careers post Love Island.” But now Tom has hinted that things could change in the future, revealing he has "no interest" in seeing anyone else and that he has a lot of "love" for his ex-girlfriend.The EBay Pre-Loved Ambassador told Mail Online: "We're on such good terms now and I have a lot of love and respect for her. There is no bad blood there and I wish her all the best, I know she will smash it.

He added that they both realised the relationship wasn't right, even though they didn't argue, adding: "I don't know what could happen but she's a lovely, genuine girl." Tom went on to say that he wouldn't consider doing any TV dating shows, and that dating was "not even in my head".
