Love Island's Sharon Gaffka has revealed she is still grieving after having a miscarriage last year. Gaffka, who appeared on the seventh series of Love Island, said the foetus would have been "celebrating their first birthday this week".
In an Instagram post, she opened up about the feelings she has been experiencing over the last year. She said that as she initially wasn't intending on becoming a parent, the grief following the miscarriage was "confusing".
She said: "The foetus I miscarried would’ve been celebrating their first birthday this week. Which hit me like a train and I have surprisingly found it incredibly tough to function as I normally would. While I know I’m not the only one to have experienced such loss, I’ve struggled with finding a space where the unique emotional journey that those who don't envision motherhood in their future go through when facing such a loss, being talked about openly.
