Love Island's George Fensom addresses resurfaced tweets: 'Not the person I am today'

Soon-to-be Love Island star George Fensom has defended himself after facing a backlash over historic tweets featuring homophobic remarks and slurs.

Ahead of the making his ITV2 debut on 5 June, George, 24, spoke to press and insisted the tweets are not a reflection of who he is now.

George told OK! and other reporters: "As I say, in regards to the accounts, you know, it's really unfortunate that's been brought up. "Because, you know, that isn't the person I am today.

And actually, you know, looking back on those tweets was really naive and really young to think that was the right thing to say.
