Gemma Owen has detailed how the last couple of months have been “quite challenging” for her following the death of her competition horse, Sirius Black.The former Love Island contestant, who competed on the show last year against the likes of Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti, was left heartbroken in February when Sirius died suddenly.
Sirius, who Gemma nicknamed Siz, was 17 years old at the time of his death and had been a fixture in Gemma’s life since she was 11.
She rode the Harry Potter-named horse in several competitions and scored a personal best at Prix St Georges in January 2022.
On Wednesday, the Pretty Little Thing collaborator took to YouTube, where she posted a lengthy 'Get Ready With Me' video.The star could be seen in a fluffy white dressing gown as she did her makeup in the mirror and opened up about the devastating loss. “I obviously lost my competition horse Siz, so after that, I’m not going to lie, I’ve really, really struggled,” she said.
