Love Island contestant Antigoni Buxton is thought to be in talks to represent Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest next year.

According to MailOnline, the reality star, 26, has submitted three songs to Greece's biggest television channel, and has already travelled to Athens to showcase her singing talents.

It is thought her songs were well received by bosses of the channel, who broadcast the show each year in Greece, and is now waiting for the green light to represent the country at the 2023 edition in Liverpool.

Antigoni, who has Greek Cypriot heritage, said of her Eurovision hopes: "I'm submitting three songs but one in particular is my favourite. "It's an up-tempo, powerful, fiery and romantic track with both Greek and English lyrics. "Combining modern sounds and hip-hop production with Greek traditional sounds and melodies is my style." The singer, who hails from North London, also opened up about performing in the UK. "I'm so proud of my Greek roots and my goal as a musician is to share Greek sounds and culture with the world. "As the Eurovision is being held in the UK where I live, it would be an honour to be able to use my platform here to shine a light on the country I'm representing." Antigoni was one of the stand-out stars in this year's Love Island, appearing on the ITV2 show as a bombshell midway through the series.
