Love Island fans have accused Pretty Little Thing (PLT) of snubbing Indiyah Polack after "using" the star for social engagement before Gemma Owen landed a deal with the fashion company. The international dressage rider, 19, was confirmed as the latest ambassador for the popular online retailer, which she said was "a dream come true." She told her followers that she was "excited to get to work" and that she could not wait to begin designing her clothing collection.

However, since the announcement on Monday, 22 August, the brand has come under fire with many Love Island viewers slamming the fast fashion company over its recent poll asking who would be the "perfect PLT doll," between Indiyah and Gemma – in which Indiyah received thousands of votes. "It’s actually crazy how they gave Gemm the deal after using Indiyah for engagement on Twitter," a person tweeted. "#Gemma being offered a #PLT deal makes no sense... #Indiyah's style is so much better suited and more colourful, yet she's being overlooked even after getting the most likes/tweets on Twitter," another wrote. "This is no disrespect to Gemma because she’s pretty and all…but Indiyah was literally serving look after look after look…this makes no sense.

I remember Gemma’s looks being quite generic. Indiyah was serving," a third exclaimed. "Why say choose when you knew who you wanted?" said a fourth as a fifth quipped: "The public spoke and the math ain’t matching." Indiyah, 23, and boyfriend Dami Hope, 26, finished in third place during this year’s Love Island final, coming behind Gemma and Luca Bish and winners Ekin-Su Culculoglu and Davide Sanclimenti, who took the victory and bagged the £50,000 prize.
