Documentary maker Louis Theroux, 51, on a ’pleasing’ new take on Tupac, his bromance with Joe Wicks and the far right in the US.It was very nice.

It’s more than two years since we began planning these programmes. I love being out and about, meeting the people I do. These are subjects very much in the classic Louis Theroux production.

After a little run about slightly less extravagant themes, such as mental illness in America and social issues in the UK, to be back in the midst of the more exotic landscape of porn, rap and the far right was a very welcome change.This is very much the next iteration of the far right.

Much more internet-savvy, much younger. The central figure in the episode is a guy called Nicholas J Fuentes, who’s just 23 years old and was there on January 6 at the demonstration.
