Ruth Langsford has been flooded with messages of love and support after she shared a worrying family update. The Loose Women star took to social media to reveal her beloved mother, Joan, had been rushed to hospital after suffering a nasty fall.

Ruth regularly shares updates on her mum as they spend time together at her Surrey home she once shared with her ex-husband Eamonn Holmes.

But over the weekend, she shared a video of her mum, where she is seen dancing in her kitchen while peeling potatoes, on social media as she offered the concerning update. She’s ok…ish, no surgery required thank goodness but she needs rest and time to heal now. She’s in hospital at the moment but I’m hoping to get her home soon." The TV star then added: "This time last year she fell and broke her hip but recovered well…she’s a very strong woman so I’m sure she’ll recover from this too.
