Loose Women star Linda Robson has shared her battles with mental health and alcohol addiction. In a new memoir, the 65-year-old actress opens up about her life and talks about dark experiences in her past.
Ahead of publication, Linda shared an extract which reveals she struggled with insomnia, OCD and was put on suicide watch at one point after suffering a breaking down.
Linda detailed how she believed it would "never happen" to her in her upcoming memoir. When recalling her mental health struggles, she tells readers she believes it links back to 2008, when Ben Kinsella, a close family friend of Linda's, was murdered at the age of 16.The Birds of a Feather actress explains how her sleeping pill usage increased and so did her enjoyment of alcohol, admitting she went from a glass a night to a bottle an evening.
Linda's family grew concerned and told her they considered getting her sectioned under the Mental Health Act. However she said that she agreed to seek help voluntarily and checked into the Nightingale Hospital, "not knowing if I would come home again".
