ITV Loose Women's Linda Robson addresses 'heartbreaking' ban during alcohol battle

Loose Women star Linda Robson has bravely opened up about how she was banned from her granddaughter's carol service one Christmas at the height of her battle with alcoholism.The TV star, 65, confessed it "broke her heart" after she'd suffered a breakdown and she was then told she wasn't allowed to attend - due to her troubles with drinking.

But Linda, who has three children and two grandchildren, detailed how she knew she needed to stop as she felt like she was "losing everything." She also thanked her Loose Women co-stars for their support and explained how they checked on her during her darkest times.

On Thursday's episode of Loose Women, the panel discussed times when they felt most supported by loved ones. Linda took the opportunity to open up about a particular time in her life - where she detailed the height of her breakdown and battle with alcohol.

She said: "Four years ago, I had a breakdown. We were away at a bootcamp in Ibiza and I had a proper breakdown there. You all supported me and helped me get home again." She continued: "I started drinking quite a lot, I had a bit of a breakdown and I wasn't allowed to go to my granddaughter's carol service one Christmas and it broke my heart. "That was the moment I thought I've got to stop this now as I was losing everything." Thanking her co-stars for their support, Linda explained how they were "all there for me." She said: "All the Loose Women were phoning my family everyday to see if I was OK - even Janet was phoning my family! "That was two years ago and I've been back here for four years and touch wood everything is fine now.
