Ellise Shafer Colin Firth is a father desperately seeking justice in the first trailer for “Lockerbie: A Search for Truth,” an upcoming limited series about the 1988 bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 that killed 259 passengers and crew members.
In the Sky and Peacock show, Oscar winner Firth plays Dr. Jim Swire, whose daughter dies in the terrorist attack. In the aftermath, he becomes the spokesperson for the families of U.K.
victims and embarks on a “relentless journey that not only jeopardizes his stability, family and life, but completely overturns his trust in the justice system,” according to the show’s synopsis. “As the truth shifts under Jim’s feet, his view of the world is left forever changed.” In addition to Firth, “Lockerbie: A Search for Truth” also stars Catherine McCormack (“Slow Horses,” “Temple”) as Jim Swire’s wife, Jane.
The five-part series is a co-production between Carnival Films, part of Universal International Studios, and Sky Studios. Scottish playwright David Harrower (“Blackbird,” “Knives in Hens”) serves as lead writer, while BAFTA winner Otto Bathurst (“Peaky Blinders,” “The Winter King”) is lead director.
