Cineworld has named Thomas Song its chief financial officer overseeing the group’s finance and accounting management and with a leadership role in the company’s strategic planning and analytics.

UPDATED, 07:30 a.m.: Cineworld Group has officially entered administration, following an application at the High Court in London. The administration order applies only to Cineworld Group and not to any of its operating companies or subsidiaries such as Regal Cinemas in the U.S. or Picturehouse Cinemas in the UK.

UK-based global theater chain and parent of Regal Cinemas said overnight it expects to emerge from Chapter 11 in July.

The group’s companies include Regal in the U.S. The court granted the group immediate access to up to some $785 million of an approximate $1.94 billion debtor-in-possession financing facility that, together with its cash reserves and cash provided by operations, is expected to provide sufficient liquidity for Cineworld to “meet its ongoing obligations, including post-petition obligations to vendors and suppliers, as well as employee wages, salaries and benefits programs,” the company said Friday. The remainder of the DIP facility will become available following the court’s approval on a final basis.
