Livingston midfielder Scott Pittman tied the club’s all-time appearance record as he played his 309th match for the Lions yesterday against Hibs. The 30-year-old signed for the club in the winter transfer window from Bo’ness United during the 2014/15 campaign and has been a near ever-present since, featuring in more than 90 per cent of the club’s games since his arrival.Pittman joins long-time team-mate Keaghan Jacobs on the landmark figure but will likely surpass the South African’s total next week at Fir Park when Livi face Motherwell. The local lad already holds the club record for the most Premiership appearances, overtaking Oscar Rubio’s mark of 123 towards the end of last season.Lions boss David Martindale paid tribute to the midfielder, saying: “He started his career with me at Broxburn.

We played midfield, he would do my running and I’d do his talking.“He went to Bo’ness when they had aspirations to get into the pyramid system but he was there for six months.“He’s sitting on 309 and you’re not getting his number beaten.

Keaghan Jacobs did it over 14 years, wee Pitts is into his eighth full season.“Look at the way the wee man plays, he’s got another 40 games a season in his locker no problem at all.“I’m delighted for him and it couldn’t happen to a nicer boy.” Don't miss the latest news from the West Lothian Courier.
