The British and Irish Lions have today confirmed the revised fixture schedule for the tour to South Africa revealed by Mirror Sport over the weekend.
All eight matches are to be played in Gauteng or Cape Town to “minimise the risks of disruption that could be caused by the COVID-19 pandemic”.
In order to provide “stable team bases and training venues” as well as significantly reduce travel, the series will now kick-off on the High Veldt of (Johannesburg) rather than at sea level (Cape Town).
The opening two matches, against the Lions and Sharks, will take place at Ellis Park before the tourists head to Loftus Versfeld to take on the Bulls.
