Martin Compston and the AC-12 team have carried out their biggest interrogation yet - with Boris Johnson in the hot seat. In a now viral video by anti Brexit group Led By Donkeys, the Scots Line of Duty star and colleagues Vicky McClure and Adrian Dunbar can be seen round a table grilling the UK Prime Minister in what looks like a scenario from the award-winning cop drama.

As they question Boris about his alleged attendance at a 'bring your own booze' garden party in Downing Street on May 20, 2020, Martin's character D.I Steve Arnott can be heard saying: “LBD-1 is an email sent by your principal Private Secretary Martin Reynolds, inviting more than 100 Downing Street staff to attend a party on the evening of May 20 2020.”Boris protests: “All that is subject for an interview, er investigation by Sue Gray.”Superintendent Hastings then says: “We've investigated it, and the facts are plain for everyone to see.”DI Fleming adds: “Only an hour before the party began Oliver Dowden, your Culture Secretary made a statement reminding the public of COVID regulations.”The interview sounds and looks authentic and will no doubt cause red faces all around Downing Street. But of course, it is a spoof. That didn't stop people including line of Duty creator Jed Mercurio applauding its content.

He wrote in a Tweet: "Brilliant work @ByDonkeys." Others agreed: "This is by far the very best we have seen from @ByDonkeys And that's set against an already high standard!

This deserves to be run on the main TV channels. Let's retweet the life out of it and get it seen over and over again! " Another added: "Absolutely stunning piece of work.
