The animal was found on French Barn Lane, Blackley at around 4am today (Friday). He was taken to Central Park Police Station where he was cared for by officers, before he was taken to a vets.
Officers from GMP's north Manchester team posted about the incident on Facebook. The dog, which was walking with a limp, was wearing a black collar with a ring for a tag.
