The emaciated male boxer-type dog was found tied to a tree in Boggart Hole Clough, Blackley, by a member of the public. The poor animal was assessed by a local vet who decided that the kindest option was to put him to sleep.
RSPCA are now trying to find out who dumped the dog, which was not microchipped. The animal rescue charity believe that he may have had a neurological condition and was 'clearly in pain'.
