Singer-songwriter Lily Allen recently opened up about her misplaced resentment towards music legend Sir Elton John, revealing a candid letter she wrote to her former manager.
In a candid clip speaking on her podcast with Miquita Oliver, Miss Me?, Lily detailed her former management by Elton John, recalling how he would check in on her regularly, offering support during challenging times. "He would call me once every couple of weeks to check in and say hi and make sure I was okay," Lily shared, reflecting on a period of her life where she struggled with personal challenges.
Despite Elton's genuine care and concern, Lily admitted to feeling hurt and resentful after parting ways with him, attributing her resentment to a letter she had written expressing her sadness about the situation. "There was a big Elton-shaped hole in my life," Lily confessed, revealing how she held onto feelings of anger and frustration for years, believing that Elton had been insensitive to her vulnerability. "I thought it was mean of him actually," she added.
However, a surprising discovery changed everything. Upon moving to America, Lily stumbled upon the letter she had written to Elton, realising that she had never actually sent it.
