Lidl forced to melt down all chocolate bunnies following row with Lindt

Budget supermarket chain Lidl has been ordered to melt down all their chocolate bunnies for being "too similar" to those sold by Lindt, a top Swiss court has ruled.

The German grocer's version of the gold foil wrapped bunny made famous by the Swiss chocolatier is to be pulled off shelves immediately, with remaining stock melted down.

Switzerland's highest court has said that the Lindt product - one of their biggest selling lines - should be protected from duplicates, reports WalesOnline.

During the ruling, the Swiss federal court said that the two products were likely to be confused by the public due to their similarities.
