Liam James Payne (born 29 August 1993) is an English singer and songwriter.
He rose to fame as a member of the boy band One Direction.
Payne made his debut as a singer when he auditioned for the British television series The X Factor in 2008. After being eliminated as a solo performer, he auditioned again in 2010 and was put into a group with four other contestants to form One Direction

The One Direction alum, just 31, sadly died on Wednesday after jumping from his fourth-story hotel room in Buenos Aires.
At this point, it is unclear if this was intentional or not. As we’ve already covered, a 911 call placed just minutes before his death revealed that hotel staffers were worried about his safety since he allegedly had “too many drugs and alcohol” and was acting erratically and “trashing” his room. Pictures taken of his room just after he was found dead show traces of white power all over the floor in the living area alongside burnt aluminum foil, a green lighter, a package of Dove soap, and other apparent trash.
