The family of the One Direction star gathered today to mourn the 31-year-old who tragically fell from his hotel balcony in Buenos Aires on October 16.Liam's dad Geoff returned his son's body to the UK two weeks ago after flying out to Argentina following the heartbreaking incident.
He remained by his son's side and even took a moment to acknowledge the fans who had congregated outside the hotel where Liam died to pay their respects.The former One Direction member will be privately laid to rest in the Home Counties, attended by his nearest and dearest.
A wake will follow the funeral.Liam's One Direction bandmates, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik are all attending the service, as well as his heartbroken girlfriend, Kate Cassidy.
Cheryl, mother to Liam's seven-year-old son Bear, is also present at the funeral today. Preparations for the service began early at the church, with an array of stunning flower arrangements adorning the front door.
