Liam Payne's former fiancée is not the unidentified ex-partner who was reportedly staying at the same hotel. The ex-One Direction star tragically died last week at the age of 31, after falling from the balcony of his third-floor hotel room in Buenos Aires, Argentina.The star passed away due to multiple traumas resulting in an "internal and external haemorrhage".

However, a hotel employee alleges that while Liam was alone at the time of his death, an ex-partner was residing in the same hotel.Speaking on an Argentinian TV show, Esteban Grassi stated: "He was seen alone but his ex-partner was around."When questioned on El Trece programme Telenoche: "So she was staying at the hotel too", he replied: "Yes: before adding: "A floor above, yes" when further asked if she was above the third-floor suite Liam was in.

Since this news broke, fans on social media speculated that the mysterious partner might have been Liam's ex-fiancée, Texan author Maya Henry.

But sources close to the late star have since refuted this. A source told the Mirror: "Maya Henry has never been to Argentina, and she was not back with Liam Payne." Before Liam's death, Maya appeared on a social media podcast and revealed that Liam had been trying to reach out to her – despite her showing no interest.
