Liam Payne was reportedly in touch with a friend just hours before he tragically died in Argentina.The ex-One Direction singer, aged 31, met his untimely death after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires on Wednesday.

A close buddy disclosed that he had sent her a selfie just before the sad event unfolded.The pal, named Jodie, claimed Liam had forwarded a snap showing him inside his hotel room in the Argentinian capital.

She recounted how Liam had reached out on Monday to inquire about her day. After telling him she was hitting the gym with her child, Liam responded: "Nice".

Liam is then said to have sent her a picture with his hand to his forehead. She explained she replied: "Sorry just home x." As per The Sun, he texted again on Wednesday morning checking if she was up.
