Liam James Payne (born 29 August 1993) is an English singer and songwriter.
He rose to fame as a member of the boy band One Direction.
Payne made his debut as a singer when he auditioned for the British television series The X Factor in 2008. After being eliminated as a solo performer, he auditioned again in 2010 and was put into a group with four other contestants to form One Direction

Since the news of Liam's death broke, there has been an outpouring of tributes from loved ones and fans alike. Among those paying their respects is singer Jamie Scott, who co-wrote "Night Changes" with One Direction.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, 40 year old Jamie admitted feeling "lost" following Liam's death as he reflected on their close bond, stating that Liam was "always present" for him despite their demanding careers.
Jamie described Liam as "funny" with "the biggest heart, the cheekiest laugh." Jamie also showcased some of Liam's "amazing" drawings, revealing the late singer's passion for art.
