Lewis Hamilton has hit back at former Formula One world champions Sir Jackie Stewart and Mario Andretti for their comments on his anti-racism stance and push for greater diversity in the sport.
Three-time world champion champion Stewart, 81 and Britain's most successful driver until Hamilton came along, told ITV's Good Morning Britain last week that he did not think F1 had as big a problem as it might seem.
The Scot said: "I think Lewis has been a great example to lots of people. He's quite vocal about these elements, I don't think there's as big a problem as there might seem." Stewart's comments came as Hamilton, who is the only Black driver in a sport that is heavily white and male, continues to lead F1's fight for eqaulity.
