Lewis Capaldi (born 7 October 1996) is a Scottish singer-songwriter. He was nominated for the Critics' Choice Award at the 2019 Brit Awards. In March 2019, his single "Someone You Loved" topped the UK Singles Chart where it remained for seven weeks, and in October 2019 it reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100. On 17 May 2019 he released his debut album, Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent, which remained at the top of the UK Albums Chart for six weeks.

Lewis Capaldi, 24, was announcing Dua Lipa, 25, as the British Album of the Year winner, at The Brit Awards 2021, but his speech was hardly heard as the audio was muted.

At one point, he even told the crowd to “shut up” and told them he was doing his job.The singer began his speech by calling the crowd mother “f*****s”.The crowd could then be seen laughing at something else he said, but the audio was muted for viewers at home.He also received a huge “boo” from the audience as he suggested Scotland would beat England at Wembley at next month's Euros.Viewers were quick to flock to Twitter to share their thoughts about the awkward moment.One commented: “Just SCREAMED at them having to mute the entire of what just came out of Lewis Capaldi’s.
