Lewis Capaldi has revealed he suffers from such brutal panic attacks that his mum has to sleep in his bed with him.The Scots singer opened up on how his rise to fame had a huge impact on his mental health and said his mum helps him deal with his hypochondria and anxiety.
The 25 year old said things got so bad that he once convinced himself he had a brain tumour and had to cancel a gig in America to go for a private MRI scan because of his fears.
Talking on Steven Bartlett’s podcast The Diary of a CEO, Lewis also spoke of a crippling anxiety attack he faced at the 2020 Grammy Awards - and how his mum Carol has had to sleep beside him to comfort him as recently as last month.
The Bathgate-born musician said: “If I'm having a panic attack there's nobody else that can help me out of it except my mum, for sure."My mum has had to sleep in my bed as recently as a month ago because of how bad my anxiety got at one point.
