Leonard “Hub” Hubbard, a founding member of The Roots who played bass on the iconic hip-hop group’s first seven albums has died, according to his wife Stephanie.

He did his last show with band in August 2007. In the intervening years, he had undergone multiple rounds of chemotherapy, according to his wife Stephanie.
