Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.

He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,

Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.

Leon Balogun reveals key Rangers manager difference between Gio and Gerrard as he insists his Ibrox journey can go on

Leon Balogun has dubbed former boss Steven Gerrard as 'more emotional' as he reveals the reasons behind Rangers' success under Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

Van Bronckhorst replaced Gerrard in the Ibrox hot seat last November when the former Liverpool midfielder left the club to join Aston Villa.The Dutchman had high expectations to live up to upon his arrival.

And while the league title has slipped from Rangers' grasp they could still finish with a sensational Double as they play the Europa League Final and Scottish Cup Final next week.

His time in charge has seem him adopt a different style of football to Gerrard but Balogun insists the differences don’t stop there.“Steven was a bit more emotional; Gio is more at peace with himself,” Balogun told SportBILD.“He gives us confidence in a different way.
