Len Goodman was pictured hugging Strictly Come Dancing co-star Bruno Tonioli in the last photo shared before his death. The Strictly legend died on Saturday night at the age of 78 after a battle with bone cancer, with reports he was being cared for in a hospice in Tunbridge Wells following a ‘short illness’.
It appears the last time he was snapped was in November last year when he reunited with former Strictly co-star and longtime friend Bruno as the pair celebrate Len’s retirement.
The photo shows the pair beaming and hugging, and Bruno originally shared it as he hailed his friend ‘the only and only ballroom legend’.
He wrote at the time: ‘Celebrating the one and only ballroom legend Len Goodman you are the best my friend best partner I could have wished for @dancingwiththestars @bbcstrictly what an incredible adventure we sheared happy retirement. ‘Love always Bruno. ’Bruno shared the picture again on Monday following his friend’s death, as he revealed he will ‘treasure the memory’ of their adventures on and off television. ‘Heart broken my dear friend and partner for 19 years the one and only ballroom legend #lengoodman passed away,’ he wrote. ‘I will treasure the memory of our incredible adventures and hundreds of shows we did together @bbcstrictly @dancingwiththestars they will never be anyone like you we will miss you ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️Bruno (sic)’The news of Goodman’s death was announced by his agent, who said in a statement: ‘It is with great sadness to announce that Len Goodman has passed away peacefully, aged 78.
