Legendary Hollywood actress who spoke out during MeToo movement dead - as tributes paid to 'stellar career'

Legendary Hollywood actress Janis Paige has passed away at the age of 101.The star's close pal Stuart Lampard announced the sad news on Monday, 3 June.

Janis died on Sunday at her home in Los Angeles, with her cause of death being put down to natural causes. She was famed for appearing in numerous films as well as Broadway shows, with an incredible career spanning 60 years.

Janis starred in films such as Silk Stockings, Bachelor in Paradise and Two Gals and a Guy. She also had her own TV sitcom, It's Always Jan, and was given a star in the Motion Picture section of the Hollywood Walk of Fame in February 1960.

Dozens of fans have paid tribute to the late star on social media following her passing. Writing on X (formerly Twitter), one person said: "Very sad to report that one of my top favourite actresses of all time died yesterday at the age of 101.
