A judge has recommended that Shakira ‘face trial’ after the pop star found herself in hot water with authorities in Spain for allegedly evading €14.5 million in tax.
During a three-year investigation of the Colombian singer, who has a home in Barcelona, Judge Marco Juberías found ‘sufficient evidence’ and recommended that the 44-year-old’s case go to trial.
If she is found guilty, she could face a hefty fine or even jail time. In 2019, Shakira, who has an estimated net worth of €250 million, denied charges claiming that she had not paid taxes between 2012 and 2014 while she was living in Spain.
