Doctors could soon be telling patients to “take a hike” and “get on your bike” in an effort to improve the health of Renfrewshire residents.

Waitrose has followed in the footsteps of Marks and Spencer and Tesco to remove "best before" dates on a number of fresh food products in a bid to reduce food waste. Nearly 500 items will see dates scrapped from packaging from as early as Septemberr.
