Fingers Crossed by Lauren Spencer-Smith rockets to Number 1 on the Official Irish Singles Chart. The 18-year-old Canadian singer and songwriter’s breakout hit enters Ireland’s Top 50 for the first time after receiving a mid-week release last week (January 5) – and tops the chart in the process.
The song’s success has been compared to Olivia Rodrigo’s Drivers License, which flew straight to the top of the charts internationally this time last year.
Fingers Crossed’s success means last week’s Number 1, abcdefu by Gayle, is pushed to Number 2, with just 300 chart sales between the Top 2.
Meanwhile, following the release of his new album Dawn FM, The Weeknd scores three tracks in this week’s Top 20; Sacrifice which flies straight in at Number 5, Take My Breath which re-enters the chart at Number 11, and Gasoline at Number 16.
