Euphoria throws a lot at you, not just in terms of plot but in terms of aesthetics. We follow our main characters as they face high school problems that feel like the absolute worst case scenario: drug addiction, teen pregnancy, domestic abuse, etc.
And on top of that we have technicolor lighting and camera angles that can make you feel like you're on a tilt-a-whirl. There was even a sequence from last season that was shot in a constantly .
I don't dislike those parts of the show. It's why it's is so good, and so watchable, but it can also be... a lot. It demands a lot from viewers, basically.
And Rue, as a main character, is not always an easy person to like. But last night's episode slowed things way down and let that character just sit.
