Large police presence and road cordoned off after crash 'involving cyclist'

Emergency services were called to the crash on Tyldesley Road just before 7pm tonight (Friday). A male was taken to hospital from the scene.

The extent of his injuries - or any details of his age - have not yet been confirmed. Reports on social media suggest a cyclist was involved in the crash.

The air ambulance is also believed to have landed at the scene. Tonight, Tyldesley Road remains cordoned off between High Street and Hamilton Street.
