‘Lanterns’: Poorna Jagannathan Joins DC Series For HBO
deadline.comPoorna Jagannathan (Never Have I Ever) has been tapped for a heavily recurring role in Lanterns, HBO’s drama series based on the Green Lantern DC comic.
She joins series regulars Kyle Chandler, Aaron Pierre and Kelly MacDonald as well as fellow recurring Garret Dillahunt. The series, from Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof and Tom King, follows new recruit John Stewart (Pierre) and Lantern legend Hal Jordan (Chandler), two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, Earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland.
Jagannathan will play Zoe who is effortlessly confident and poised in any setting, even those where she stands out. She is every bit as composed and cunning of the influential men around her.
Zoe is rumored to be a love interest for John. Macdonald plays Hal’s love interest, Sheriff Kerry. Dillahunt plays modern cowboy William Macon.
