Landmark Hacienda book will feature clubber’s fashion photos

A new book is being compiled to celebrate the 40th anniversary of The Hacienda’s opening, and its publishers are asking former party-goers to share pictures of their best outfits from the club’s heyday.

Hacienda Threads - The Untold Story will explore the styles and fashions worn by those who frequented the club over the years.

From the DIY looks of the post-punk early 1980s, when the club first opened its doors, to the dress-to-sweat ethos of Acid House, the club’s influence on the fashion and styles of the time extended far beyond Manchester.

Curated by a team headed up by Rebecca Hook and written by James Anderson, the new publication will feature rare and previously unpublished photographs of everyday ravers, local heroes and international music icons. “We felt it was time to focus on the positive side of The Hacienda’s history - the culture, energy and style of the club,” explained Rebecca Hook.
