A lanlady who kept a vulnerable woman as a slave for over 10 years has been ordered to pay her £200,000.Farzana Kausar was jailed last December after being found guilty of keeping a person in slavery and trying to twist the course of justice.
Kausar, 59, often made her victim work for 14 hours a day. She took control of the woman's money, cut her off from her family and made her cook, clean and look after her children.
She has now been she must pay the woman a total of £198,000. This includes benefits she took from her and unpaid wages during her time as a slave.
An extra £7,000 was also taken for National Insurance payments. The wages were worked out as an average value if the victim had been getting the national minimum wage or national average income, reports the Mirror.Lewes Crown Court heard that Kausar has enough money to pay the full amount, and was given three months to do so or face more time in jail.
