A Coltness woman who received a kidney and the the gift of life from a selfless neighbour says she will never be able to thank her enough.Eileen Broadfoot, 56, nominated Joanne Weir, who lives next door to her in Coldstream Crescent, for the Wishaw Press Say it with Flowers Award to help express her undying gratitude to her.She had been living with polycystic kidneys, a hereditary condition, and needed a transplant, when up stepped Joanne to give her one of hers.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

I never put it out there that I was needing a transplant. Myself and my family will be forever grateful, as I’m still here because of Joanne.

I’ll never be able to thank her enough. She was there for me and it was so unexpected.“We’ve been neighbours for 12 or 13 years but it was only during Covid that we really got friendly, before that it was really just ‘hello’ and ‘how are you getting on?’.
