Lanarkshire pubs join plastic recycling project

Three Lanarkshire bars are taking part in a post-Christmas recycling scheme entitled “Tub2Pub” which will raise funds for a cancer charity.Hospitality group operators Greene King is inviting customers to hand in empty plastic confectionery containers for recycling at premises across the UK this month – including the Hungry Horse Barrbridge in Bargeddie, the Academical Vaults in Hamilton and Red Burn Farm in Blantyre.

The tubs will then be sent to a specialist facility to be recycled into granulated plastic for use in manufacturing, and which will be sold on with the profits going to Macmillan Cancer Support.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
