A Lanarkshire man has narrowly avoided prison after police found a shotgun at his home.William Denholm, of Airdrie, claimed he bought the weapon at a car boot sale and wanted to have it as an ornament.The 54-year-old was fined £1875 at Airdrie Sheriff Court after he admitted possessing the shotgun without a certificate at his then home in Craigvale Crescent, and elsewhere, between February 2016 and February 2019.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
