Lanarkshire dad launches art fundraiser in tribute to 'kind' daughter who lost cancer battle

A grieving Lanarkshire dad has turned a passion project into a loving tribute to his late daughter to keep her memory alive.Kirkmuirhill mum-of-two Carol Watson tragically lost her life to ovarian cancer at just 38 years old.

But thanks to the incredible treatment she received at The Beatson her loving family got five special years with her before she passed peacefully in October last year, surrounded by her family and close friends.Carol was sadly due to be married to her partner of 22 years George McKean at the Radstone Hotel in Larkhall this Sunday with daughters Caitlin, 21, and 17-year-old Kacey by her side.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

Her two girls were her world."She was so well thought of and in her job at the Kirkmuirhill Spar she was always known as the lassie with the lovely smile."We were absolutely shattered by Carol's diagnosis but staying positive kept her going, that was Carol."With it just being Mother's Day and the wedding date coming up it's been a hard time for us all, especially the girls.
