Lanarkshire castle venue's £15 million expansion plans

Plans have been announced for an “ambitious” £15 million expansion of a luxury Lanarkshire venue which will treble its capacity and create 50 jobs.Crossbasket Castle is working to create a new 40-bedroom hotel, two five-bedroomed eco cottages, a modern restaurant and events space plus two spa cottages, each with three dedicated treatment rooms.The five-star hotel, near High Blantyre, expects to welcome the first guests to the new facilities next summer – with its management company saying the development will create “capacity for an additional 35,000 visitors each year and deliver a projected economic boost to the South Lanarkshire economy of £1.2m per annum”.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
