Who says safety can’t be fashionable? Lady Gaga revealed how much pride she felt by getting to perform the “Star Spangled Banner” at President Joe Biden‘s inauguration back in January in an interview with British Vogue published on November 2.

The 35-year-old singer admitted to feeling afraid during former President Donald Trump’s administration, and that she’ll always remember getting to usher in Biden’s presidency.

Gaga noted that she performed in a “Schiaparelli bulletproof dress,” for an extra level of security for the ceremony. The singer noted how important the day was for her as an artist and an American. “That has to be one of the proudest days of my whole life.
