Kristen Wiig is heading back to sunny Palm Beach as Apple TV+ has renewed its hit freshman series Palm Royale for a second season.
Loosely based on Juliet McDaniel’s novel Mr. and Mrs. American Pie and produced by Apple Studios, Palm Royale is a true underdog story that follows Maxine Simmons (Wiig) in 1969 as she endeavors to break into Palm Beach high society.
Armed with fabulous ensembles and accessories, as well as her quick wit, Maxine attempts to cross that impermeable line between the haves and the have-nots.
The dramedy asks the same question: “How much of yourself are you willing to sacrifice to get what someone else has?” “We are so thrilled to hear about season two,” says executive producer Dern. “Jayme and I (with Jaywalker Pictures) have been dreaming up this project for so long in hopes that audiences would have delicious fun with the radical ride that is the world of Palm Royale.
